How can mental health therapy help?
Mental Health Therapy, or counselling, is a process of helping someone to make the changes they would like to make in their lives. Counselling can differ from talking to family and friends in that counsellors are trained to be neutral, keep information confidential and have skills to help people learn about themselves. In the non-judgmental environment of counselling sessions, people can receive the understanding and support that they need to clarify issues, explore options, develop strategies, practice new skills and ultimately, make change.
During your counselling sessions you can discuss your struggles, explore coping, and get information about other resources that might help. Anything that is on your mind is a good reason to schedule a counselling session.
All are welcome:
We take your right to confidentiality seriously. We will only share information about you to those outside of Klinic if we have your permission, except in the following situations:
Child Welfare: The law requires all citizens to report child abuse and neglect. If we believe that a child is at risk, we will ask the appropriate agency for help.
Threats of Harm: If we believe that you or someone else may suffer serious harm or death, we will do what is necessary for safety. We may need to ask an appropriate agency for help.
Justice System Request: In rare cases, the courts or police may ask to see client records. We will always try to tell you about any actions we need to take to keep everyone safe.
